The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
How can I temporarily lower my Personality?
1 of 5: You'll have to drink potions and/or cast spells that drain it.
2 of 5: You can use the process of alchemy to mix up potions with Damage Personality as one of the effects, but note that for you to be able to drink the potions, they'll have to have at least one beneficial effect. (Otherwise they're poisons, and can only be used on weapons.)
3 of 5: A much easier way is to get ahold of some cheap wine that causes a temporary Personality drain when drunk.
4 of 5: Plenty of that is available in the nearby city of Bruma, including in the inn and Baenlin's house.
5 of 5: Or you can adjust your Personality with the PC Cheat Codes' "player.setav" command. Don't forget to set it back to what it was after you get the quest!
