The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
Sneak
1 of 7: Once you get your Sneak skill to 70, talk to Othrelos in the Imperial City or Mirabelle Monet in Anvil about "Training" to be referred to Marana Rian.
2 of 7: Her house is in the NE set of buildings in the Imperial City's Temple District. If she's not home, make "Sneak Training" the active quest and follow the quest arrow to find her.
3 of 7: When you ask her for training, she'll first test you by asking you to steal a coin that she's carrying on her.
4 of 7: You'll have to successfully pickpocket the "Marana Rian's Coin" object from her, which can be difficult.
5 of 7: Either get around to where she's not facing you and try for it, or use a Chameleon effect to help you nab it successfully.
6 of 7: Or wait until she's asleep, then break into her house and pickpocket her in bed. That would make it a lot easier. (She's set to sleep between 6 am and noon, but there is some variation, so use the quest arrow to see when she's home.)
7 of 7: Talk to her with her coin in your inventory to get her to train you.
