The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints

Imperial Corruption

  • 1 of 16: Speak to either Ruslan or Luronk gro-Glurzog (both of whom live in the NE part of the Temple District) about "Corrupt Imperial Watchman" to start on this quest.
  • 2 of 16: Neither one of them can tell you the corrupt guard's name, so try the owner of the shop they were accused of stealing from.
  • 3 of 16: Ask Jensine in her "Good as New" shop in the NE part of the Market District about "Corrupt Imperial Watchman."
  • 4 of 16: Get her disposition up to 70 and say that two of her customers told you about the watchman, and she'll tell you it's Audens Avidius.
  • 5 of 16: Talk to any guard about "Corrupt Imperial Watchman" and ask where you can find a Watch Captain.
  • 6 of 16: You'll be referred to either Hieronymus Lex or Servatius Quintilius (depending on how far along you are on the Thieves Guild quests).
  • 7 of 16: Use the quest marker to help you find the guy you're after, then talk to him about the usual topic.
  • 8 of 16: He'll refer you to Itius Hayn, who can also be located via quest arrow.
  • 9 of 16: Get Hayn's disposition up to 70 and talk to him about the corrupt watchman to learn that you'll need to get two witnesses to testify against Avidius.
  • 10 of 16: Jensine won't help, so try the two guys who started this quest.
  • 11 of 16: Talk to Ruslan and gro-Glurzog about testifying after getting their dispositions up to 70.
  • 12 of 16: Now you can go off and do other things -- you'll get a journal entry in a day or so saying that Avidius has been arrested.
  • 13 of 16: However, that's not the end of it, even though the quest is marked as completed in your journal.
  • 14 of 16: About ten days after he's arrested, he'll escape from prison and come after you.
  • 15 of 16: Fortunately, he's just a wimp with no armor and a little dagger, and he'll be fairly easy to kill.
  • 16 of 16: After he's dead, you can search his body for a paper with his "ramblings" on it. What a wacko!
