The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
An Unexpected Voyage
of 23: To start on this interesting quest, go to the Bloated Float Tavern at the Waterfront. (It's the ship at the eastern dock.)
of 23: Pay Ormil 10 gold for a room, then go down to the Inn Deck and find the room behind the unlocked door.
of 23: Sleep on the bed for an hour or two in order to get a journal entry saying that the ship has somehow put out to sea.
of 23: Leave your room and talk to Lynch.
of 23: No matter what you say, he'll decide to attack you and you'll have to kill him.
of 23: Search his body to find his instructions and the storage room key.
of 23: Open the nearby storage room to find Graman gro-Marad, the tavern's bouncer and helmsman.
of 23: He's willing to steer the ship back to the Waterfront District, but only after you clear out the thieves one way or another.
of 23: Head up to the Tavern Deck to find the next gang member, Minx.
of 23: To get some useful info out of her, say that Lynch sent you up there to assist Selene.
of 23: After you kill her, get the key from her body. It opens the door at the top of the stairs next to the bar.
of 23: When Wrath talks to you, claim that you're awaiting orders and then say "three days ago."
of 23: After you kill him, get Ormil's cabin key from his body.
of 23: Then return to the Tavern Deck and tell gro-Marad that the way to the ship's wheel is clear.
of 23: Your last tasks are to deal with Selene, the gang's leader, and rescue Ormil.
of 23: The door to Ormil's cabin is behind the bar. Open it to find yourself face-to-face with Selene.
of 23: If you don't want to have to fight her, choose your conversation options carefully.
of 23: If you do it just right, she'll surrender and hand over her magic Blackwater Blade without a fight.
of 23: Ask Ormil about Selene. He'll say to escort her to the last room on the inn deck so she can be locked inside for the return trip.
of 23: She'll already be in following mode, so head down to the Inn Deck and go stand next to the "Private Room" door that's to the right of your rented room until Selene goes inside.
of 23: Return to Ormil and ask him about the Blackwater Brigands to learn that he made up the whole "Golden Galleon" thing to drum up more business for the tavern.
of 23: He suggests you return to your rented room and sleep a bit. Do so to get the ship back to its dock in the Waterfront District.
of 23: Then go back to the Tavern Deck and talk to Ormil to finish the quest and get your reward.
