The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints

The Sunken One

  • 1 of 11: To start on this quest, go to the Shetcombe farm (location 1 on the West Weald map) and enter the farmhouse.
  • 2 of 11: A journal entry will prompt you to search around for a clue about the farm owner's current whereabouts.
  • 3 of 11: The clue will tell you that the guy probably went to the nearby Sandstone Cavern (location 2), so go hunt for him there.
  • 4 of 11: Inside, move south to a cave room with a path split, then go down the western path.
  • 5 of 11: Past another cave room, you'll come to a trench that leads to the door to the Sandstone Big Rooms area.
  • 6 of 11: Before you go through that door, find the second journal page on top of a chest nearby. (It's marked by a green quest arrow.)
  • 7 of 11: In the Big Rooms area, move forward to quickly find a big cave room with a large sunken pit in the middle.
  • 8 of 11: Move around the pit to find a passage on the eastern side of the room.
  • 9 of 11: You'll soon find Slythe Seringi's body, next to a bag with gold and gems in it.
  • 10 of 11: Save your game before you take the third journal page from his body, since doing so prompts the Sunken One (a storm atronach) to appear in the tunnel nearby.
  • 11 of 11: Loot its rubble for void salts after you kill it. That and the stuff in Seringi's bag (and whatever other loot you find) are your reward for this quest.
