The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
Fort Sutch Oblivion Gate
1 of 7: Sometime after finishing the "Dagon Shrine" quest in the Main Quest series, go to Fort Sutch (location 24 on the Gold Coast map) to find that several Imperial legionnaires are stationed nearby.
2 of 7: You can talk to the legion captain to get him to ask for your help in fighting the Daedra coming out of the nearby Oblivion gate, or you can just run do it.
3 of 7: After all the Daedra that come out of the gate are dead, talk to the legion captain if he's still alive.
4 of 7: He'll ask you to go through the gate and try to shut it down from the other side, much like you did at Kvatch.
5 of 7: Save your game before entering the gate, since the first time you do, it'll connect to a randomly chosen Oblivion world, some of which can be harder than others.
6 of 7: See the Oblivion Worlds hint section for details on the worlds that you might end up in. (Note that this particular gate can only go to world 2, 3, 4, or 7.)
7 of 7: After you get the sigil stone, you'll reappear next to the now-closed Oblivion gate, and can report success to the legion captain (if he's still alive).
