The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints

Once I've entered the tower, how can I get to Arkved and the orb?

  • 1 of 12: On the first level of the tower, you'll pass through a fancy dining room with lots of stealable items.
  • 2 of 12: Then you'll come to a kind of mirror image of it in which all the furniture is on the ceiling! That orb must have really gotten out of hand.
  • 3 of 12: TIP: You can knock most of the stuff off the upside-down table by shooting items with arrows or the Flare spell.
  • 4 of 12: Soon after that, you'll start encountering Daedra guardians.
  • 5 of 12: The next level, called Arkved's Void, is a really weird one. Have a torch out so you can see where you're going and avoid deadly falls.
  • 6 of 12: In Arkved's Lost Halls, you'll find a door and a trap door to Arkved's Oasis and a door to Arkved's Hall of Changes.
  • 7 of 12: The so-called oasis is a barren Oblivion-like area, so skip it and go straight for the Hall of Changes.
  • 8 of 12: In the first room you come to in the hall, you'll have to watch out for the central magical device as well as the Daedra.
  • 9 of 12: Take the door in the east corner of that room to move on. (The other two doors just lead to dead ends.)
  • 10 of 12: TIP: When you come to the zombie slab room, use the trapdoor in the middle of the room to get to Arkved's Retreat and loot a chest, then return to the Hall of Changes.
  • 11 of 12: Take the east door in the zombie slab room to get to another magical zap-device room, then take the east door once more to get to the trap door to Arkved's Rending Halls.
  • 12 of 12: Move through the Rending Halls to find the ladder leading to Arkved's Death Quarters, which is where you'll finally find Arkved in bed.
