What can I do with the sliding tiles in the castle?

  • 1 of 14: Have you done anything with the waves yet?
  • 2 of 14: If you've solved that puzzle correctly, then you probably noticed the pattern that was inscribed on the bottom of the chunk of land that lifted out from the sea.
  • 3 of 14: And you should have seen something similar to that pattern in the castle.
  • 4 of 14: You want to recreate that pattern on the tiles.
  • 5 of 14: The tiles will slide to the left and right as well as up and down.  The pattern will rotate along the edges of the tile if you slide it off the left or right side of the puzzle.
  • 6 of 14: You might not notice this immediately, but the bottom of the pattern is basically a mirror image of the top half -- it's just rotated differently.
  • 7 of 14: And the tile pieces on the castle are mirror images of each other.
  • 8 of 14: I found it easiest to solve this puzzle by working from the top and bottom edges and then move to the center.
  • 9 of 14: Whenever you move a tile to the left, you will need to move its mirror image once to the right and vice-versa.
  • 10 of 14: For example, start out by moving tile 1 (the tile currently in the top-most slot) 2 spaces to the left.  You should then move tile 10 (at the bottom) 2 spaces to the right.
  • 11 of 14: Now, move tile 5 up to the space 2.  Its mirror image, tile 6, should move to space 9.
  • 12 of 14: Then, move tile 7 to space 3 and slide it left twice.  Tile 5 (again, its mirror) should go to space 8 and be moved twice to the right.
  • 13 of 14: Move tile 5 to space 4 and move it left twice.  Next, move tile 6 (the mirror image of the one you just moved) down to space 7 and move it right twice.
  • 14 of 14: Finally, slide the tile in space 5 down one and right to the twice.  To finish the puzzle, move the tile now in space 5 left twice.
