Odyssey: The Search for Ulysses Hints

I'm inside the palace. Where's Ulysses?

  • 1 of 12: First of all, be careful not to make any noise, or you might alert the guards.  And certainly don't walk near any sleeping guards or you'll wake them up.
  • 2 of 12: Turn to the left after entering the palace, and keep going until you see a sleeping guard blocking the ramp further up.
  • 3 of 12: While you can't go up that ramp, you may also notice that there's a second level on the outside edge of the circular room that's to the right of the guard (the one with the fire in the middle).
  • 4 of 12: And you can still get up to that circular ring -- the only problem is that there's a gap in the path that keeps you from getting all the way around.
  • 5 of 12: There's also a board that you can pick up on the lower level.  It's somewhat in front of the fire, towards the front of the screen.
  • 6 of 12: Take it, and the guard that was sleeping near the fire will wake up.  (Be careful not to step on any of the metal near the fire, or you'll alert the guard.)  Once the guard gets out of your way, climb the ramp.
  • 7 of 12: Put the board down over the gap.
  • 8 of 12: But you still need to wait for the now-awakened guard to move.
  • 9 of 12: There's a good hiding place near where you used the board.
  • 10 of 12: Stand in the crevice to the very back of the screen, near the source of the dripping water.  When you do this, the guard will mysteriously move again, and it should be safe to cross the board.
  • 11 of 12: Head up the ramp until you find the prisoners.  (Don't go up the staircase, though -- it leads to some more guards.)
  • 12 of 12: Agree to release either prisoner.  You'll be caught, but at least you won't be killed this time.
