Overclocked: A History Of Violence Hints
How can I open the combination lock?
of 18: Dave will ask the patient whether he has any idea what the combination of the lock is.
of 18: The patient will say that he isn't too sure -- but there is an item in your inventory which gives us all the help we need.
of 18: This is a pretty tricky one to work out, particularly since the writing on the paper in your inventory cannot be zoomed in on, and it's fairly difficult to read.
of 18: The paper reads as follows:
of 18: 10 ? 2 - + / x
of 18: You need to enter four values into the panel on the door.
of 18: Note that each value can be more than one digit in length.
of 18: The four digits relate to the four symbols on the bottom row of the page, the -, +, /, and x.
of 18: Do those symbols hold any relevance for you?
of 18: They are the four mathematical operators, subtraction, addition, division, and multiplication.
of 18: And the question mark in between the 10 and 2 indicates that we need to select operators to place into the equation to form answers.
of 18: There are four operators, and there are four parts to the lock. Seems simple, no?
of 18: Keep them in order, and perform the calculations, and enter their results. After each one, press the enter button on the lock (at the lower right corner).
of 18: 10 minus 2 is 8. So, enter an 8 for the first part of the code, and press enter.
of 18: 10 plus 2 is 12. So, enter a 1 then a 2 for the second part of the code, and press enter.
of 18: 10 divided by 2 is 5. So, enter a 5 for the third part of the code, and press enter.
of 18: 10 multiplied by 2 is 20. So, enter a 2 then a 0 for the fourth part of the code, and press enter.
of 18: After entering 8, then 12, then 5, then 20, you should be able to get through the door.
