How do I solve Outer Layer Puzzles?
You solve the Outer Layer Puzzles by moving the pieces to the proper place on the figure and placing them in the proper orientation. Don't forget that you can place the pieces into the mirror too!
With Outer Layer, remember that you only have to try three rotations with a piece to get all the possible orientations. Also, there are four piles of pieces at the side. You should start by sorting through the piles to group similar pieces in the same pile. This will really speed the solution.
Be careful, some of the pieces go into dark areas or areas near the base that are almost hidden. In some cases a hint will solve that pesky last piece. Don't worry if it takes a long time to turn the model as you work on it. It was very slow on my machine, taking 20 seconds for a 90 degree turn.
