The Pandora Directive Hints

Some General Notes

  • I follow the "Game Player" mode throughout this file.  In this mode, you can gain 4000 points.  The "Entertainment" mode is very similar to the "Game Player" mode but will give you only 1500 points and it lacks some puzzles.  If you're in "Entertainment" mode, you can still use this hint file, since I will indicate which puzzles are for "Game Player" mode players only. Another major difference is that you can get hints from the game in the "Entertainment" mode (at the cost of some points), but not in "Game Player" mode (unless you switch back to "Entertainment" mode).

Also, I've followed the "Mission Street" path in this file.  This is the one with the best ending: Tex gets the girl -- Chelsee that is.  To get here, you should be very careful when talking to Chelsee.  Be gentle and loving to her.  Also being kind and thoughtful to other people will help you stay on this path.  A little mistake here will put you on the "Lombard Street" path, or even worse, the "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" path.  Your confrontation with Chelsee at the end of day two will tell you whether you're still on the "Mission Street" path or not.  If you have a meeting with Chelsee at the beginning of day three, you're on your way to the best ending.

You can only gain maximum points when following the "Mission Street" path or a very "Mission Street"-like "Lombard Street" path.  So be gentle, kind, and thoughtful.  Especially be faithful to Chelsee.  If you'd like to follow the "Lombard Street" path, forget about Chelsee; there are other women.  If you'd like to follow one of the "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" paths, just be crude and selfish.  Each of the different paths will show you some dialogue and animation sequences you would otherwise not see.

Although it is possible to end the game with a maximum score, you will probably not reach it if you follow this hint file verbatim.  However, as a general rule for maximizing your score, always look first, then take, and then use.  It would also be a good idea to save your game before you try to solve a puzzle if you're in "Game Player" mode -- the faster you solve a puzzle, the higher your score.

Finally, I will cover only those actions you have to undertake in order to end the day.  Due to the non-linearity of the game, some things can be done in a different order during the first few days.
