Where can I find the fan blade?

  • 1 of 9: If you've explored the town, you may have seen a large noisy electric fan in one of the stores. Maybe that would do the trick.
  • 2 of 9: Across from the cafe is a would-be elegant hair salon with a ratty old electric fan. Talk to the proprietor and see if he's amenable to parting with it.
  • 3 of 9: The hairdresser is more than happy to let you take the fan blade, but only if you can get his old fan working again. His old fan is just a large panel of fabric hanging overhead that he swings back and forth with a foot pedal.
  • 4 of 9: The panel is fine, so look closely at the foot pedal, on the floor to the left of the chair, to see what the problem is.
  • 5 of 9: There's clearly something missing here, but what? Think about how this thing should work: You step on the pedal, the pedal goes down and the fan swings one way; you lift your foot, the pedal lifts and the fan swings the other way. But what makes the pedal lift up after it's been stepped on?
  • 6 of 9: A large spring would do the trick nicely. You can find one in the garage.
  • 7 of 9: From where you enter the garage, go right to find a demolished single-engine airplane. Look in the cabin to find a large spring protruding from the seat.
  • 8 of 9: In the salon, lift the pedal and put the spring under it, then talk to the proprietor. You can now take the fan blade.
  • 9 of 9: To get the blade, zoom in on the fan, turn it off, remove the cover, and take the blade. Go back to the truck and lift the hood to find the place where the blade goes (at the right, just above the battery).
