How do I catch a Pokemon without damaging it?
1 of 4: WARNING -- the next hint contains a cheat. Do not read ahead if you don't want to use it.
2 of 4: To make sure that you catch a Pokemon, press Down and B as soon as the Pokemon appears on screen, and then release once the Poke Ball has closed and has stopped bouncing. It requires EXTREMELY good timing and works best with Ultra Balls. Other Balls will work too, but it will not work on Pokemon that have reached a certain level.
3 of 4: If this doesn't work, try Up + B instead of Down + B. Sometimes, this works better. Also note, that if your timing isn't good enough, it may decrease your chances of catching the Pokemon with that Ball.
4 of 4: Alternatively, when the Ball is in midair, press Up + B both at the same time and then let go. When the ball opens wide to catch the Pokemon, press and hold A + B at the same time until the Pokemon is caught. This should work with any Ball.
