Trading without a Link Cable
1 of 3: WARNING -- the next hint contains a cheat. Do not read ahead if you don't want to use it.
2 of 3: To perform this cheat, you need Pokemon Stadium 2. Transfer all the Pokemon you want to trade, into the N64 boxes. Turn off the Nintendo 64, and replace the game in the Transfer Pak with the game that will receive the Pokemon. Transfer the Pokemon to that game, save, and you're done! You can't get the Pokemon (Golem, Alakazam, Gengar, Machamp, and equipping evolutions) that only evolve by trading, though. You can also trade normally with 2 Transfer Paks, though I've heard that it doesn't work properly (!).
In Pokemon Stadium 2, note that Pokemon can only be transferred between GSC and PS2 if you have caught 150 Pokemon. They don't have to be different. I haven't had the same problem between RBY and PS2.
3 of 3: If all trading is between Red, Blue, and Yellow, Pokemon Stadium 1 will also work.
