Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal Hints
What are these strange puzzles?
1 of 6: There are 4 puzzles in total, of which one is near the Lab. Upon completing one of these puzzles, you unleash a new set of Unown and fall into a cave. The Unown are shaped like the letters in the alphabet, A-Z. Tip: You can train your skill in making such puzzles on the Pokemon Crystal website, http://www.pokemoncrystal.com.
2 of 6: Each of these puzzles depicts a Pokemon related to fossils, such as Omanyte.
3 of 6: There are hints on the wall next to the puzzle.
4 of 6: Once you catch 3 different Unown, you can get a Pokedex upgrade by talking to the professor just outside the cave exit. Here is a translation chart to the words shown in the Unowndex. This can also be viewed in PS2.
5 of 6: After catching 10 different Unown, the machine in the lab should work. The machine allows you to print out the different Unown you've caught, using a Game Boy Printer.
6 of 6: Any of the puzzles can be reached once you've got both Surf and Strength. Other than the one near the lab, the puzzles can be accessed via the Union Cave south of Violet City.
