Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal Hints
How do I beat the Gym Leader?
1 of 5: Clair uses 3 L.37 Dragonair and a L.40 Kingdra.
2 of 5: Dragon-type Pokemon are weak against Ice and Dragon. The Dragonairs are fairly simple, just use an Ice-attack. If necessary, you can catch Jynx in the Ice Cave.
3 of 5: Kingdra is a real pain in the backside! It is Water/Dragon, and although Dragons have a weakness to Ice, Water-types are strong against this. This means its only weakness is Dragon, but using a Dragon will give you a good beating.
4 of 5: Gyarados*** can learn some Dragon-attacks, which is your best bet, although you'll be weak to Ice. Note that Dragon Rage won't help, as it is a fixed-damage move. It may be easier to just train your Pokemon and give it all you've got.
5 of 5: After beating her, you get... nothing! You must continue to Dragon's Den, which can be reached by surfing north in the waters by the Gym.
