Prince of Persia: Warrior Within Hints
Combat Strategies: On the offensive
When you're not in danger of being attacked, it's time for you to do the attacking. Prince of Persia: Warrior Within offers many different combination attacks for you to use, including variations on attacks through the use of one or two weapons.
Generally speaking, a secondary weapon (one that you pick up from a weapon rack or off the ground) will attack more slowly but also more powerfully than your primary weapon (the weapon the Prince always carries). If you decide to use a secondary weapon, use it when you're certain you won't be quickly counterattacked. If a counterattack seems imminent, it may be best to guard or dodge for now -- you should only attack when your enemy's not.
In addition to mashing the Primary and Secondary Attack buttons to swing your weapons, you can use a variety of acrobatic skills to deal damage or put yourself in an advantageous position. By using the Secondary Attack button without a secondary weapon, you can grab and kick your enemies. By using the Jump button, you can jump around, off of, or over your enemy so that you can attack it from a better position. Be careful, though, as some enemies use your acrobatics to their advantage, knocking you to the ground as you sail through the air.
Also, take advantage of your environment; if there's a tall, flat wall nearby, you can run up it and come down on your enemies with weapons down or run across the wall, slashing at enemies as you pass. You can also use traps against your enemies -- they don't only hurt you. When using only a single weapon, it can sometimes be easy to throw your enemy onto a spiked floor or into the radius of a rotating blade. Doing so usually guarantees victory.
Experiment with different attack combos continually as you progress through the game, especially when you get a new attack or combo. From the game's pause menu, you can access a list of combo attacks for you to use. Memorize and use those combos that you find to be the most effective.
