How do I get the Alternate Ending?
To get the Alternate Ending, simply pick up the Water Sword in the Hourglass Chamber when you have the chance. In order to get the Water Sword, you must have all nine Life Upgrades. You can get the sword at one of two times -- 1) When you're in the Hourglass Chamber after returning from the Library (before going to the Sacred Caves in search of the Mask of the Wraith), or 2) before entering the Throne Room for the final time. After the cut-scene you've seen before, turn around and grab the Water Sword before entering the Throne Room.
Beat the game using the Water Sword and you'll get the Alternate Ending.
