How can I get the orb into its receptor device?
- 1 of 12: Notice that the receptor device and the ceiling that it's shining its red light on are both on the other side of a portal-blocking force field.
- 2 of 12: However, you can easily walk through the force field and shoot a portal onto the ceiling where the receptor's light is shining.
- 3 of 12: But when you go back through the force field to throw a portal onto the wall that the orb is bouncing off of, your first portal will be removed.
- 4 of 12: You're going to have to redirect the orb so that it goes into the room with the receptor, then quickly set up some portals inside that room to guide the orb into the receptor.
- 5 of 12: If you examine the situation, you'll see that you can get the orb to bounce into the room with the receptor by putting one portal on the wall where the orb leaves a black mark, and the other portal on the wall that's directly across from the receptor. (Directly above the lift alcove, in other words.)
- 6 of 12: The best way to do this is to set one portal above the lift alcove, then wait for the current energy orb to pop. (They do that every now and then.)
- 7 of 12: When it does, quickly set your other portal on the black spot where the orb hits the wall.
- 8 of 12: Stand near the force field that leads into the receptor room and watch for the orb to go through the portal and head your way.
- 9 of 12: The instant it does, go through the force field to cancel your current portals.
- 10 of 12: After the orb bounces off the back wall of the receptor room, fire one portal at the black mark it leaves.
- 11 of 12: Then fire the other one at the ceiling where the receptor's red light is shining.
- 12 of 12: That way, when the orb comes back in, it'll go through your portal and down into the receptor.
