The Orange Box: Portal Hints
Chamber 17 in Least Time
1 of 9: The best speedy run-through I could come up with for this chamber is very similar to the Chamber 17 with Least Portals (Method 2), so run through it as fast as you can, using the notes below to help.
2 of 9: If you make it up to the start of the first energy orb corridor as fast as possible, you'll be in a situation where you'll need to run-jump down the first corridor while facing forward, and the second corridor while facing the other way.
3 of 9: As soon as you enter the big lift room, toss the cube so it'll land on the floor over near the three lowered lifts, then go about getting security cameras for the item stack.
4 of 9: You can get by with two cameras, so quickly shoot a blue portal at the camera on the lower wall in the lift room, then turn around shoot an orange portal at the camera near the end of the second orb corridor.
5 of 9: Grab the orb corridor camera, then drop down to the lift room's lower floor and go set it in a corner near the upper hallway you need to reach.
6 of 9: Go get the other camera and set it on top of the first one, then set the storage cube on top of the two-camera stack.
7 of 9: This is really very hard to do quickly, and will probably take many tries. Once it's done right, at least one of the cameras below the cube will be sticking out enough that you can jump onto the cube from on the camera.
8 of 9: Jump from the cube to the hallway floor, then quicky crouch and turn around so you can get the cube. (Hopefully, it didn't get knocked down out of reach.)
9 of 9: Run-jump your way through the process of incinerating the cube, then rush to the elevator to finish the challenge.
