The Orange Box: Portal Hints
How can I get up to that door?
1 of 10: To start with, stand near the drop to the toxic under-floor and look up.
2 of 10: You see that higher bit of ceiling that's past the ceiling over the hallway you're in?
3 of 10: Put a blue portal in the approximate center of that higher ceiling.
4 of 10: Then fire an orange portal into the wall that's in front of you and just across the toxic drop.
5 of 10: Make the orange portal low enough so that you can jump over to it without falling into the toxins.
6 of 10: You should be able to go through the portal and drop down to a ledge with a white tile on it with two dots.
7 of 10: Now you need to get up to the nearby three-dot ledge.
8 of 10: Fire a blue portal into the ceiling over the ledge, then put an orange portal on the floor of your current ledge. Easy drop-in!
9 of 10: The same goes for the four-dot ledge, except that you'll have to fire your blue portal into a wall on that ledge instead of the ceiling.
10 of 10: The four-dot ledge is the one with the button-opened door on it.
