The Orange Box: Portal Hints
How can I get the cube to that button?
1 of 9: To start with, get yourself and your new cube down to the button room that's directly beneath you.
2 of 9: Pick up the cube and move to the edge of the room you're in, then look down and very slowly move forward until you fall.
3 of 9: Lean on the "Move backward" key to make sure you land on the edge of the button room's floor.
4 of 9: Raise your view up to make sure your cube doesn't leave your grasp and fall into the acid below as you back into the room.
5 of 9: Once you're safely in the button room, toss a blue portal into one of its concrete walls, then toss an orange portal to the right of the extendable wall section that the button operates. (This is just like what you did to get back across the room before.)
6 of 9: Go ahead and take your cube through the portal and drop it on the other side.
7 of 9: Then go back and hit the button to extend the wall section.
8 of 9: Go back through the portal, grab your cube, and crouch-walk your way under the long metal pole and toward the button ledge.
9 of 9: Now you can *finally* drop the cube on the button to open the door over on the four-dot ledge.
