The Orange Box: Portal Hints
How can I get up to the exit?
1 of 12: To start with, put an orange portal on the lowest platform.
2 of 12: The next-lowest platform is waaay on up there, so to get anywhere near it, you'll have to do the old momentum thing.
3 of 12: Near the floor you're on is a very deep pit that you can use.
4 of 12: Fire a blue portal at the bottom of the pit, then fall down into it.
5 of 12: You'll be flung way up from the platform you put an orange portal on, but you won't arc onto the next platform.
6 of 12: Instead, you'll fly up to where you can see it nearby, and then fall back down.
7 of 12: What you need to do after you come up out of the orange portal is look down so that you can shoot a blue portal onto the next platform.
8 of 12: When you come up out of that blue portal, you'll need to look down so you can shoot an orange portal onto the next platform. (You may also need to twist around to see that platform -- your facing isn't always the same.)
9 of 12: NOTE: If you're not fast enough in getting the next portal shot, you can wait until you bounce into position again. There's no need to get everything done on the first bounce. (Unless you're looking at these hints while playing the advanced version of the chamber.)
10 of 12: As you come up out of the orange portal on the third platform, turn so that you can fire a blue portal onto the fourth platform.
11 of 12: When you come up out of it, turn until you can shoot an orange portal onto a slanted piece of wall that's near a corner.
12 of 12: Coming out of that will propel you into the exit corridor.
