The Orange Box: Portal Hints
How can I get this orb into its receptor?
1 of 10: The receptor is in the little recessed ceiling area next to the orb firer.
2 of 10: Check out the two slanted floor sections that are underneath the receptor and firer.
3 of 10: The orb hits one, bounces into the wall, and then goes back the way it came.
4 of 10: How can you get it over to the other slanted bit of flooring so that it goes into its receptor?
5 of 10: It's not as simple as putting portals in the wall where the orb hits it and then on the other side, since the walls are metal-covered.
6 of 10: Actually, it's even simpler!
7 of 10: If you check the two bits of raised flooring, you'll see that they're both made of portal-friendly concrete.
8 of 10: So put your portals on the flooring pieces instead of the walls.
9 of 10: Put one near the top of each slanted flooring piece, and the orb will soon fire itself into the receptor.
10 of 10: NOTE: If the orb starts bouncing out of your exit portal the wrong way, you'll have to quickly relocate that portal while the orb is to the right of it.
