The Orange Box: Portal Hints
Door
1 of 10: Next up is a door blocking your way.
2 of 10: Before you get to the door, you pass an alcove on the left side.
3 of 10: Jump into the alcove as soon as you can.
4 of 10: NOTE: You could use portals instead of the moving platform to make it this far, but you'll need the platform from here on. (Unless you use the Advanced Portaling Tip to make it the rest of the way, which is possible, but tricky.)
5 of 10: Press the button in the alcove to very briefly raise the door out of your way.
6 of 10: There's not enough time to ride that slow-moving platform past the door, though.
7 of 10: But there is enough time to fire an orange portal at the back wall past the door.
8 of 10: Make sure the orange portal is at about your level on the wall, or a bit higher.
9 of 10: After that, fire a blue portal into one of the alcove walls.
10 of 10: Watch through the blue portal for the platform to get close enough, then move onto it.
