The Orange Box: Portal Hints
Eternal Energy Orb
1 of 10: Around the corner past the door is an energy orb that'll keep bouncing back and forth across your path without ever popping.
2 of 10: You're going to need to redirect that energy orb before you reach it.
3 of 10: You can open a portal in the wall to the left of the orb, so do so.
4 of 10: That probably isn't enough by itself, as the orb will periodically bounce back into your path through the portal.
5 of 10: So relocate the portal to a spot high up on the back wall (the one you're facing as you're moving along) while the orb isn't in sight.
6 of 10: Then, to be safe, relocate the portal to a lower spot after the orb comes out of it. That way, you can open portals later on without having to worry about the orb coming out of them and killing you.
7 of 10: Another way to get past the orb is to leave it alone and portal your way around it.
8 of 10: Fire an orange portal into the wall somewhere past the orb, then fire a blue portal into the wall next to you.
9 of 10: Carefully walk into the blue portal and stand there without going through.
10 of 10: Wait for the moving platform to pass by your orange portal, then get back on it.
