The Orange Box: Portal Hints
How can I get up to that walkway?
1 of 13: You could pretty easily jump to it from on top of the horizontal piston when it's fully extended.
2 of 13: It's right next to the large concrete ledge, but how are you going to get onto that?
3 of 13: The bottom of that ledge is made of concrete, so maybe the top is, too.
4 of 13: How can you get up to where you can toss a portal at the top of the ledge?
5 of 13: If you explore all around the ledge, you'll find two up-and-down piston devices fairly near it.
6 of 13: Get on the one that goes up the farthest.
7 of 13: When it's fully extended, you'll easily be able to fire a portal at the top of the concrete ledge.
8 of 13: Use the same color of portal that you had on the bottom of the elevator shaft, then get off the up-and-down piston.
9 of 13: Go around to where you can crouch-walk back under the concrete ledge.
10 of 13: Stand up when you're directly under your lower portal, then jump up onto the ledge through the upper one.
11 of 13: Go over to the side of the ledge that's near the horizontal piston and wait for it to retract.
12 of 13: Right after it starts extending again, jump onto it and ride it down to the end.
13 of 13: Quickly run along it and hop onto the walkway before it retracts again.
