The Orange Box: Portal Hints
How can I get that cube onto one of the red buttons?
1 of 10: Start by getting the energy orb into its receptor.
2 of 10: This is done in the usual way, with no new complications.
3 of 10: Fire a blue portal onto the ceiling where the receptor is shining its red light, then fire an orange portal onto the wall where the energy orb bounces off of it.
4 of 10: Now put your blue portal in the concrete ceiling section that's over the moving platform's path, and put the orange portal in the wall nearest you.
5 of 10: Watch through the orange portal for the moving platform to move under you so you can drop onto it.
6 of 10: This is a tricky thing to do, since you don't want yourself or the storage cube to fall into the toxic water on the floor.
7 of 10: You can forget about portaling over to either of the big red buttons due to all the nearby metal walls, so you'll have to jump over there.
8 of 10: When the platform is nearest the exit door, jump over to that door's small platform while carrying the cube.
9 of 10: Still carrying the cube, jump from that platform to the nearest red button platform.
10 of 10: You can now set the cube on that red button.
