The Orange Box: Portal Hints
So how can I get the energy orb into the receptor?
1 of 8: Start by portaling yourself over to the other side of the toxic hallway gap.
2 of 8: Fire a blue portal into the wall on the left side of the doorway that's on the other side.
3 of 8: Then fire an orange portal into the left part of the wall that's directly opposite that doorway. (The narrow wall that's near you, in other words.)
4 of 8: Go through the orange portal to reach the other side, then peek into the orb room through its doorway.
5 of 8: Relocate your blue portal to the wall where the orb bounces.
6 of 8: As soon as it goes through the portal, follow it in order to return to the other side of the hallway.
7 of 8: Make your way over to the orb receptor device and fire an orange portal into the ceiling directly above it. (You can do this quickly from a distance, but there's no rush.)
8 of 8: After the orange portal is set, just stand nearby and wait for an energy orb to enter the receptor.
