The Orange Box: Portal Hints
How can I get over the second glass wall?
of 12: The first problem to overcome is that you can't just walk into the side area and over to the momentum-gaining pit.
of 12: Note, though, that you can fire a portal into the side area's back wall through its upper opening.
of 12: Toss an orange portal up there so that it forms on the wall underneath the camera, then put a blue portal on the floor next to the glass wall.
of 12: You can then drop through the blue portal in order to get to the flooring next to the pit.
of 12: Now you're going to have to deal with the problem that there's no extended wall section to use in flinging yourself over the glass wall.
of 12: You're going to have to go over it by coming up out of the blue portal you set in the floor.
of 12: Unfortunately, putting the orange portal into the pit and dropping through it won't give you enough momentum.
of 12: So put the orange portal on the ceiling of the pit room.
of 12: Then drop back to the main floor and go over to your blue portal.
of 12: The idea here is to drop through the blue portal, then fire an orange portal at the pit floor as you fall toward it.
of 12: That'll shoot you back up through the blue portal with enough momentum to get you a bit higher than the top of the glass wall.
of 12: However, you'll still have to lean on the "Move backward" key in order to actually make it over the glass wall.
