The Orange Box: Portal Hints
How can I get the orb into its receptor?
1 of 8: The main new problem is how to use portals for rapid transit between the button rooms.
2 of 8: It's still possible, but it requires a different method since only the ceilings of the button rooms are portal-friendly.
3 of 8: Ride the lift up to either one of the button rooms, then crouch down near its entrance so you can see a small part of the ceiling of the other button room.
4 of 8: Fire an orange portal onto that ceiling, then look down and fire a blue portal onto the floor next to the lift (after the lift reaches the floor).
5 of 8: Wait next to the button post in the room you're in until the orb pops, then quickly do the following things.
6 of 8: Hit the button, drop down into the blue portal, and hit the other button.
7 of 8: Toss an orange portal onto the extended wall section that faces the receptor room, then fire a blue portal at the floor where the orb bounces.
8 of 8: If you're fast enough, an orb will go into the receptor before either of the doors close.
