The Orange Box: Portal Hints
How can I deal with the two turrets in the room past the hallway?
1 of 11: Start by using your orange portal to drop down onto the cage of the second hallway turret.
2 of 11: Immediately get behind the cage and crouch in the corner until the turrets stop scanning for you.
3 of 11: Make a quick run for a spot behind the two turrets in the room to the right. You should be able to make it mostly unshot.
4 of 11: Make sure you're in a spot where the second hallway turret can't see you and shoot you.
5 of 11: NOTE: You could probably portal in behind the second hallway turret and make it into the room without using cubes to block either hallway turret, but it'd be a bit more dangerous (and less fun).
6 of 11: Next, you're going to block one of this room's two turrets with storage cubes.
7 of 11: Toss an orange portal into the wall next to your safe spot, then make a quick run for the doorway that leads to the cube storage room.
8 of 11: Turn right just past the doorway to take cover, then fire a blue portal into a nearby wall.
9 of 11: You can now export cubes safely through your portals.
10 of 11: Pile at least two cubes in front of the turret that's facing toward the button room's doorway, since you don't want it shooting you in the back as you deal with the button room.
11 of 11: When you think your cubes are in place, go over to the button room's doorway to make sure the turret you're blocking can't shoot you.
