The Orange Box: Portal Hints
How can I get an orb into receptor #1?
1 of 8: This receptor is the one in the small metal-clad side room that's on the main lift room's lower floor.
2 of 8: As before, you need to use your companion cube (sphere, now) to bounce the energy orb into the receptor.
3 of 8: The difference now is that there's a glass wall between the orb's bouncy path and the receptor.
4 of 8: Quicksave before you try, since bouncing the orb just right is very hard, and you'll probably be killed frequently.
5 of 8: Wait until an orb pops, then quickly move over next to the glass wall.
6 of 8: Move close to the orb firer and try to hold the sphere so that it'll bounce an orb into the wall on the left and then up and over the glass wall.
7 of 8: It may help to crouch and hold the sphere up above you.
8 of 8: This is super hard to do, so be sure to save your game in a regular slot after you manage it.
