The Orange Box: Portal Hints
How can I redirect the energy orb with just two portals?
1 of 6: Use your 2 portals to knock the security camera off the wall.
2 of 6: Then pick it up and use it to deflect the orb into the receptor.
3 of 6: That's an *immensely* difficult thing to do since the orb is bouncing around way above your head, and the camera will be destroyed if you try to take it through either of the force fields.
4 of 6: You can try standing right under the spot where the orb hits the wall, holding the camera up above your head and jumping when the orb gets near.
5 of 6: Another way is to put an orange portal on the wall where the orb hits, then quicksave before putting the blue portal directly above the two little signs that are to the left of the lift alcove. If you place the blue portal just right, the orb may start bouncing around erratically and end up in the receptor (but it's very unlikely to).
6 of 6: If you can't ever manage either of those ways, restore a save from before you tried them, then redirect the orb using 4 portals. That'll make 14 your minimum possible finishing score.
