The Orange Box: Portal Hints
Death by Turret Note
1 of 4: It doesn't matter how much you get shot by turrets as long as you survive.
2 of 4: You can only be killed by a turret if it can shoot you continuously for several seconds.
3 of 4: If you manage to duck into cover before getting killed, your health will rapidly regenerate to where you can take another fair shooting-up before you die.
4 of 4: If you want to be able to monitor your health, you can use the PC Cheat Codes to give yourself an HEV suit (give item_suit). That'll bring up a health display near the bottom left corner of the screen. (It'll also enable sprinting and zoom mode.)
