The Orange Box: Portal Hints
How can I cross the bigger floor gap in the third room?
1 of 10: Look down into the gap to see that the orange portal is near its bottom, next to some stairs.
2 of 10: So you'll be dropping into the orange portal this time and coming out through the blue portal.
3 of 10: Where can you place your blue portal so that you'll come out of it and land on the lower of the two floor sections that are across the gap?
4 of 10: Look up to see that there's another extended wall section attached to a metal pole above you.
5 of 10: Put a blue portal on that wall section, then drop down into the orange portal.
6 of 10: That'll toss you across to the lower bit of flooring past the gap.
7 of 10: After you get there, part of the extended wall segment will extend itself a ways farther.
8 of 10: This is to help you get up onto the highest floor section.
9 of 10: Fire a blue portal at the newly extended wall section, then drop into the orange portal as before.
10 of 10: You'll end up on the other side of the gap on the highest floor, right next to the exit elevator.
