The Orange Box: Portal Hints
How can I get that cube down to the floor?
1 of 11: You'll have to somehow get up to where it is, then drop it down.
2 of 11: Unfortunately, the surfaces all around it are covered in metal, so you can't open a portal next to it.
3 of 11: But look at the wall that's over to the right.
4 of 11: It's portal-friendly. How could you use that to get to the cube?
5 of 11: You're going to need to use the conservation of momentum thing again.
6 of 11: Toss a blue portal so that it's up in the top left corner of the concrete wall that's across from the cube.
7 of 11: To be more exact, note that two wall segments up there are streaked. That's where you should place your blue portal.
8 of 11: Now where are you going to put your orange portal so that you can come through the blue with enough momentum to reach the cube?
9 of 11: How about down in the descended-stairs area?
10 of 11: Toss an orange portal onto the floor down there, then drop down through it.
11 of 11: You'll be thrown across to the cube's platform, and can pick it up and drop down to the floor.
