Portal 2 Hints

How can I get up there?

  • 1 of 11: In the back of the area, you'll see an angled surface that faces up toward the upper floor. However, it isn't portal friendly.
  • 2 of 11: Look directly above it to see a piece of ceiling past some metal mesh that is.
  • 3 of 11: How could you use that and the conversion gel leak to make the slanted surface portal-friendly?
  • 4 of 11: By putting an orange portal on the floor under the white gel leak and a blue portal on the ceiling above the slanted surface, that's how.
  • 5 of 11: You can now place a portal on the slanted surface, but how are you going to build up enough momentum to fling yourself onto the upper floor?
  • 6 of 11: There's a propulsion gel leak nearby, so put that to work for you.
  • 7 of 11: You'll need to make a propulsion gel runway on the floor that goes most of the way across the room.
  • 8 of 11: To do that, move the blue portal onto the top of the vertical surface that's just below the slanted surface, then move the orange portal to a spot under the orange gel leak.
  • 9 of 11: To make the runway as long as possible, move the blue portal around on the vertical surface. You need the runway to go from the repulsion gel leak down to the mesh flooring.
  • 10 of 11: Once that's done, move the orange portal to the slanted surface, then move the blue portal up to the top of the vertical surface.
  • 11 of 11: Go to the start of your orange runway, make sure you're lined up with the blue portal, then lean on the "Move Forward" key until you get tossed onto the upper floor.
