Portal 2 Hints

How can I get up to the pump station?

  • 1 of 14: Look up to where the pipe shaft curves away, and use Zoom mode to see a small section of railing next to a ledge.
  • 2 of 14: There aren't any portal-friendly surfaces up there, but we know how to fix that, don't we?
  • 3 of 14: Look around for a way to get some conversion gel onto the shaft above the little railed ledge.
  • 4 of 14: Since you can't place any portals up there, you'll have to find another way to propel the gel.
  • 5 of 14: Look on the wall between two of the pipes to see a large vent.
  • 6 of 14: It's blowing air pretty hard. What do you think would happen if conversion gel were introduced into the vent?
  • 7 of 14: Notice the slanty portal-friendly surface at the bottom of the vent.
  • 8 of 14: Put a blue portal on that slanty surface. If your orange portal isn't still down on the floor under the gel leak, go to the other end of the walkway and look down so you can put it back there.
  • 9 of 14: Wait and watch as gel bubbles are blown all over the pipe shaft.
  • 10 of 14: After several of them hit the shaft in a spot above the railed ledge, move your blue portal up there.
  • 11 of 14: Go back to the little alcove near the other end of the walkway, then put an orange portal on one of its side walls.
  • 12 of 14: Go through it to drop down on or near the railed ledge, then go up the slanty shaft section until you reach the big "GEL PUMP STATION" sign.
  • 13 of 14: Turn around and look past the pipes and metal mesh to see some portal-friendly surfaces that you can move your blue portal onto.
  • 14 of 14: Put the orange portal on a gel-splattered spot on the slanty floor, then drop through it to reach the gel pump station.
