Portal 2 Hints
Once I have a cube, how can I get it onto the door-opening button?
1 of 6: In case you haven't noticed yet, that button is on a small platform that's too far away to jump to.
2 of 6: Since there's no other way to get over there, you'll have to use portals to drop a cube onto the button.
3 of 6: That means you'll need to open a portal on the ceiling directly above the button. Fortunately, that particular ceiling piece is portal-friendly.
4 of 6: Put a blue portal on that ceiling piece, then put an orange portal on the portal-friendly wall section that's at one end of the exit platform.
5 of 6: After quicksaving, carry the cube through the orange portal (without going through yourself) and drop it so it'll fall onto the big red button. If it bounces off of the button, quickrestore and try again. (Or get another cube the same way you got that one and try again.)
6 of 6: There's an even easier way to get a cube onto that button which will also get you the Drop Box achievement (if you haven't already gotten it).
