Portal 2 Hints
How can I get onto the upper floor?
1 of 11: Look around the main floor to find a large red button.
2 of 11: Stand on it to see what it does.
3 of 11: It raises up some metal floor plates to where they could be used as a ramp to reach the upper floor.
4 of 11: As usual, getting off of the button will immediately undo what getting onto it did, so you'll need to find a storage cube to weight it down with.
5 of 11: The only other interactive thing on the main floor is a button pedestal, so press its button to see what it does.
6 of 11: You may not have seen it, but what it did was cause a storage cube to drop from a tube.
7 of 11: Follow the line of blue dots that lead away from the button pedestal until you reach the railing that's near where the cube dropped.
8 of 11: Notice that it's lying on a platform that looks portal-friendly.
9 of 11: Fire a blue portal toward the bottom of the cube to get it to fall out of the orange portal.
10 of 11: You can then go pick the cube up and drop it on the big red button.
11 of 11: That'll make the ramp to the upper floor stay raised, so head on up it.
