Portal 2 Hints

How can I get the redirection cube down from its ledge?

  • 1 of 9: If you haven't found it yet, drop down to the lower floor with the laser beam, then go under the glass wall to reach the room with the redirection cube's ledge.
  • 2 of 9: Looking directly across from the ledge, you'll see that there's a slanted surface in the laser beam's area that faces it.
  • 3 of 9: However, the excursion funnel is between the slanted surface and the cube's ledge. If you tried to portal-fling yourself over to the ledge, you'd hit the funnel and get caught in it.
  • 4 of 9: You're going to need to deactivate that funnel. Look around near it to see what's powering it.
  • 5 of 9: It's apparently getting power from the laser beam. What can you use to block the beam?
  • 6 of 9: That's where the franken-turret comes in. Go get it and drop down to the laser area with it.
  • 7 of 9: Drop the franken-turret so that it blocks the laser beam, then portal yourself back onto the main floor.
  • 8 of 9: Put a blue portal on the laser area's slanted surface, then put an orange portal on the aerial faith plate's slanted surface.
  • 9 of 9: Step on the faith plate to get flung onto the redirection cube's ledge, then pick it up and drop down to the floor.
