Portal 2 Hints
How can I get there using the moving platform?
1 of 13: The moving platform starts out in a position over the button pedestal's ledge, but that's not going to help.
2 of 13: Look on the side of the chamber that's directly opposite the ledge to see a high-up section of portal-friendly wall.
3 of 13: The only way to get onto the moving platform is to get it over near that wall section so you can use portals to drop onto it.
4 of 13: To power the moving platform, you'll need to use portals to redirect the starting area's laser beam.
5 of 13: Put an orange portal on the wall where the beam hits it, then look for a place to put your blue portal.
6 of 13: Getting the laser beam into the receptacle that's above the exit door is going to have to wait until after you get a redirection cube, so try portaling the laser into one of the two receptacles that you can see on the other side of the chamber.
7 of 13: Examine the wall section that's across the chamber from those two receptacles. You'll see that each receptacle is directly across from a special portal-friendly wall section that has four small squares on the left and right of it.
8 of 13: That'll help you see where to place the blue portal so that it'll be directly across from a receptacle. Try it now in both positions to see which receptacle powers the moving platform.
9 of 13: It's the lower one, so put the blue portal on the lower special wall section to get the platform going.
10 of 13: Stand and watch the platform until it reaches the left end of its track, then quickly relocate the orange portal onto the high-up wall section that's over there.
11 of 13: Go through the blue portal to land on the moving platform, then put the orange portal back on the wall where the laser beam hits it to get the platform moving again.
12 of 13: However, don't let the platform take you through the laser grill, since it'll kill you instantly.
