Portal 2 Hints
How can I get a franken-turret?
1 of 12: First, take a moment to break Wheatley's monitor if you want to get some credit for the Smash TV achievement. (Note that if you wait until after you get the franken-turret, it'll be easier.)
2 of 12: Look a bit to the left of Wheatley's monitor to find a button pedestal next to a drop-off.
3 of 12: Press the button to get a franken-turret dropped from a tube and caught by a couple of self-extending panels. That was nice of them, but there's no way you can get up to them to get the franken-turret.
4 of 12: Look directly across from the helpful panels to find a portal-friendly wall section. Go ahead and put an orange portal on it, then think about how to use it to get the franken-turret.
5 of 12: Have you tried standing on the nearby big red button yet to see what it does?
6 of 12: Do so now to find that it activates an excursion funnel that goes from the floor up to a portal-friendly chunk of ceiling.
7 of 12: Try putting a blue portal on the ceiling above the funnel to see what happens.
8 of 12: The extended funnel should pick up the franken-turret and push it against the back wall. If it doesn't, adjust the orange portal's position until it does.
9 of 12: Look below the spot where the franken-turret is being pressed against the wall to find another portal-friendly wall section.
10 of 12: Relocate the orange portal to a spot on that wall section that's directly below the franken-turret so that the new extended funnel will catch it.
11 of 12: After it does, it'll push the franken-turret back toward you. When it's past the drop-off, get off the big red button to cancel the funnel and drop the franken-turret on the floor.
12 of 12: TIP: If you want to bash Wheatley's monitor and haven't done it yet, put the franken-turret on the big red button. Put an orange portal on the ceiling where the excursion funnel is hitting it, then put a blue portal on the floor next to the big "15" sign that's under Wheatley's monitor. Ride the funnel up to the ceiling, then relocate the orange portal to the top of the portal-friendly wall section that's across from the monitor.
