Portal 2 Hints

How can I get the third corrupted core?

  • 1 of 8: It won't be hanging anywhere near the walkway. Look for it to appear way up high, to the left of the countdown timer that has two metal plates directly above it.
  • 2 of 8: Soon after the core appears, the nearby propulsion gel pipe will rupture and spill gel onto the floor.
  • 3 of 8: Notice that it spills the gel out into a sort of runway, and that the wall surface at the end of the runway has conversion gel on it.
  • 4 of 8: Also notice that the floor directly underneath the corrupted core has conversion gel on it. Give you any ideas?
  • 5 of 8: Put a blue portal onto the floor directly under the core, then put an orange portal on the wall at the end of the propulsion gel runway.
  • 6 of 8: Go to the start of the runway, then run along it and through the orange portal to be flung up to where you can grab the core. (Provided your blue portal really is right under it.)
  • 7 of 8: To make this process go faster, fire the orange portal onto the wall under the propulsion gel pipe as soon as Wheatley gets hit by a bomb, then run over there and look straight up.
  • 8 of 8: When the core appears, wait for it to stop moving, then put a blue portal on the floor directly under it. (Note that it'll be right next to the widest part of the propulsion gel spill.) That'll give you a good head start on grabbing the core.
