Portal 2 Hints

How can I get the dropped cubes over to where I need them?

  • 1 of 10: First, figure out how to stop the dropped cubes from falling into the toxic liquid and disintegrating.
  • 2 of 10: That'll keep happening no matter how many times you press the pedestal's button, so think about a way to block the "flight path" of one or both of the cubes.
  • 3 of 10: Notice that the floor next to the farthest cube tube/faith plate apparatus is portal-friendly.
  • 4 of 10: And don't forget what you've learned about extending light bridges by using portals.
  • 5 of 10: What if you were to arrange your portals so that an extended light bridge section rose up directly between the two cube-dropping gadgets?
  • 6 of 10: Using Zoom mode to help, put an orange portal on the ceiling where the light bridge hits it, then put a blue portal on the floor in front of the farthest cube dropper.
  • 7 of 10: NOTE: If you place the blue portal correctly, the extended bridge section should hit the center of the little four-light cluster that's on the ceiling near the cube tube.
  • 8 of 10: Hit the pedestal's button again to see what happens.
  • 9 of 10: If the extended bridge is in the right place, both cubes should end up on the floor near the farthest cube-dropping apparatus.
  • 10 of 10: You can then put an orange portal on the wall near the back right corner of the chamber (where the laser is), then put blue portals under each of the cubes to get them back there. (Then put a blue portal into a nearby wall so you can get back there, too.)
