Once the cube is accessible, how can I get it to the door-opening button?
1 of 3: Drop down to the main floor, then look down into the pit and relocate the blue portal to its floor.
2 of 3: Grab the cube and drop down through the portal like you did before to be flung onto the upper floor.
3 of 3: As an alternative, you could toss the cube onto the upper floor before dropping into the blue portal. However, the cube should always come through with you if you're carrying it when you drop into the portal, so that's the easiest way to go.
