Portal 2 Hints
How can I get to the button?
1 of 10: The first obstacle to reaching the button pedestal is the flingy floor panels that will toss you back when you step on them.
2 of 10: You can't jump over them or go around them, so use portals to bypass them.
3 of 10: Put an orange portal on the floor section that's next to the flingy panels, then put a blue portal on either of the two portal-friendly walls in the button chamber.
4 of 10: Drop through the orange portal, then move toward the button pedestal to discover the second obstacle.
5 of 10: There are shield plates surrounding the pedestal that will rise up to block you as you approach.
6 of 10: If you try running around the plates and/or doubling back on them, you'll find that there's no way to run around them.
7 of 10: However, notice that only three of them can be up at once, and that those three have to be contiguous.
8 of 10: Also remember that there are portal-friendly surfaces on opposite sides of the chamber.
9 of 10: Go over to one of the portal-friendly walls and put a blue portal on it, then go around to the other portal-friendly wall and put an orange portal on it.
10 of 10: Run through the orange portal and up to the button pedestal before the shield plates can make it around to that side and block you.
