Portal 2 Hints
How can I get the first storage cube?
1 of 9: As you enter the chamber, look to the right to see the first storage cube in a raised alcove near a moving platform.
2 of 9: To get into the cube's alcove, you'll need to get onto that platform.
3 of 9: There's no way to jump onto the platform with or without the aid of repulsion gel, so you'll have to portal onto it.
4 of 9: Examining the ceiling above the platform, you'll find portal-friendly sections near both ends.
5 of 9: Put a blue portal on either section, then look around for somewhere to put your orange portal.
6 of 9: There's nothing at floor level, so use the nearby stretch of repulsion gel to bounce up onto the ledge that's near it. (The best way to do that is to go over near the ledge, then jump and lean on the "Move Forward" key.)
7 of 9: The wall next to that ledge is portal-friendly, so put your orange portal on it.
8 of 9: Move up next to the orange portal and watch for the platform to appear. When it does, go through the portal to drop down onto it.
9 of 9: Ride the platform until it goes past the cube's alcove, then jump into the alcove to claim the cube.
